In Illinois, Chicago was closeing the projects and moved the population to the suburbs starting back in the 90s. Under the guise of spreading it out and bringing the poor inner city to the burbs to help them and that it would show them, give them a view of what they can be. It didn't work. They have dreated little projects and ghettos all over the burbs. Ares that were big shopping districts are now sitting with empty stores and are filled with crime that was near non existent before. Pizza delivery will not even enter many of the apt complex. What the burbs got was financial aid for several of the first years and now must pay for it all themselves. It does not work. If they did not earn it, they do not respect it. The Dennys in Palatine used to be a safe place to go, now the need security to keep the violence down. It is all BS.
